A Turkey Shoot fundraiser will be held at Oakridge Assembly of God Church on U.S. Highway 59 south, across from The Village, at 11 a.m. Saturday. The shoot will be for .22-caliber rifles and 12-gauge shotguns. The organizers will supply the shells, and the cost is $3 a shot.

The Marble City Community Center will hold their monthly 412 Pro Wrestling Match at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Marble City Community Center at 711 N. Main. Doors and the concession stand will open at 6 p.m. Adult admission is $3 and teen admission is $1. Those under 12 may attend free. Proceeds go to the Marble City Senior Citizens Nutrition Program. The Garrison Creek Riders will hold their shodeo banquet at the Muldrow High School cafeteria at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. The dinner will be pot luck and the club will furnish soft drinks, utensils, chips and meat. Those planning to attend are asked to bring side dishes, breads and desserts for their family plus one. The Marble City Nutrition Center serves hot meals at 11:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursday at the community center at 711 N. Main. The meals are free to anyone over 50, but a small donation is suggested if possible to help with the program’s expenses. Volunteers are also needed to assist with the meals. Marble City School will host a public hearing to inform Indian parents and students about Title VII, the newly organized Johnson O’Malley program and Impact Aid Resources at 7 p.m. Monday. The meeting will be held in the Marble City School boardroom, and all parents are urged to attend.
Wednesday, Dec. 16
The Tenkiller Women’s Club will hold their luncheon meeting at noon Wednesday, Dec. 16, at the Restaurant of the Cherokees. Lunch will be $10 for the buffet, including a drink, dessert and gratuity. Adam Miller, marketing director for Canebrake Restaurant and Retreat at Lake Fort Gibson will be the speaker. Sunday Brunches for Two will be given away as door prizes. Those planning to attend are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the Cookson Baptist Church food pantry and an unwrapped small toy. Reservations may be made by calling Pat Sharp at (918) 457-4419 by Dec. 14. The club will not meet in January and February. All area women are invited to attend and, if desired, become members.

The Marble City Nutrition Center will serve a Christmas lunch beginning at 11:30 p.m. Thursday at the Marble City Community Center at 711 N. Main. Anyone over age 50 may eat free, but organizers suggest a small donation to help support the center. The center will be closed from Dec. 21 through 25. It will open again on Dec. 28. Anyone who would like to volunteer to assist with the meal or supplies is asked to contact Ellen McClendon at 775-2158.

Professional Home Hospice Volunteers and Threads of Love members will hold a Memory Angel Tree reception from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at Professional Home Hospice at 103 N. Walnut in Sallisaw. Crocheted Angels will be given at no charge to take home in memory of a loved one who has died. The 12th annual Green Country Opry Christmas Music Show will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Tommie Spear Middle School Auditorium in Sallisaw.
