The tradition continues at Broadway Joe’s in Muldrow.
Again this year Joe and Marina Morgan and family will provide a free Thanksgiving dinner at the café at 313 W. Shawntel Smith Blvd. in Muldrow from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day
This family tradition was started 13 years ago in honor of Joe’s mother, Pauline Morgan.
The family gathers at the café with a host of volunteers prepare a full Thanksgiving feast with all the trimmings that is served free of charge to anyone who wants to have dinner with them, Cathy Followell said.
“We also pack dinners to go and are happy to deliver them to shut ins, the elderly, the sick or anyone who needs a meal and can’t get to the café to eat,” Followell said.
Anyone needing a meal delivered is asked to call the café at (918) 427-7447 to get on the delivery list for local deliveries.
Donations are accepted but not expected, Followell said.
All donations are used for local families and children at Christmas for food baskets, and money is donated to the school nurse who uses it for purchases for needy children, Followell said.
Anyone wishing to make a donation or help with the dinner is asked to contact the café.
“The staff and crew at Broadway Joe’s wish to thank all of our loyal customers and hope that we can give back to our community as a token of our gratitude for all the blessings bestowed upon us this past year,” Followell said.
