During a routine stop for a traffic violation, Sallisaw police arrested four people on drug charges around 2:49 p.m. Dec. 15.

George Walter Huff, 31, of Gore, Lacy Irene Lynch, 27, of Warner, and Shawn Dewayne Locklear, 32, and Kelsey L. Girty, 20, both of Muldrow, were taken to Sallisaw City Jail after police found several drug-related items in the vehicle.

During the traffic stop, Sallisaw Detective Herb Hutchinson noticed Huff having uncontrollable muscle movements and Locklear acting very nervous. Hutchinson reported Girty was sitting next to an infant in the back seat. He said when he asked Lynch to step out of the vehicle to speak with him she was having the same uncontrollable muscle movements as Huff.

Hutchinson asked if there were any weapons or any illegal drugs inside the vehicle and Lynch said, “Not that I know of.”

After Hutchinson and Officer Billy Oliver were given permission to search the vehicle, they discovered three boxes of nasal decongestant, a package of lithium batteries and a glass-smoking device with burned residue, which tested positive for methamphetamines.

The Department of Human Services was called about the infant, which was later released to a family member.

All four suspects were booked on drug violations. While Huff was being booked, Officer Blaine Griffey found a piece of tin foil with black residue in the back pocket of Huff’s pants. The tin foil tested positive for methamphetamines.
