Ricardo Hernandez Garcia Jr., 36, of Midland, Texas, is wanted by authorities in Sequoyah County for trying to steal a child.

An arrest warrant was issued on Oct. 29 for Garcia after he checked his daughter out of Roland Elementary School and left with her.

The child’s mother told officers she has custody of her daughter. Officers checked the divorce decree and determined Garcia had no right to take the child. Officers immediately entered the girl into the National Crime Information Center and notified the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

According to the report, at 5 p.m. the Henryetta Police Department located the vehicle traveling west on Interstate 40. Henryetta police took the girl into their custody and the girl was reunited with her mother.
