On Wednesday Sallisaw Police and District 27 Drug Task Force served five narcotic search warrants and arrested nine people including one juvenile.
According to a press release by the Sallisaw Police Department, the warrant sweep was successful in affecting area distribution of controlled dangerous substances (CDS) within the city of Sallisaw.
Sallisaw Police executed their first search warrant at the 800 block of West Hastings Avenue and arrested Eulas Linwood Hughes, 32, and Heather Vinson, 31, both of Sallisaw.
Sallisaw Police officers reported finding a substance appearing to be methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia commonly used with the distribution of CDS.
Both Hughes and Vinson were booked into the Sallisaw City Jail on charges of endeavoring to manufacture CDS with intent to distribute, possession of CDS within 2,000 feet of a school, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Vinson’s bond is set at $35,000. Jail records indicate that Hughes, who has a previous felony conviction, is being held without bond.
Shawn David Smith, 28, and Casey Gann, 21, both of Sallisaw were arrested after Sallisaw Police officers served a narcotics search warrant at another home on the 800 block of West Hastings Avenue.
Officers at the scene reported finding substances appearing to be methamphetamine, and paraphernalia commonly used with CDS.
Gann and Smith were booked into the Sallisaw City Jail and charged with three counts of possession of a CDS in presence of a minor, possession of CDS within 2,000 feet of a school, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Smith and Gann’s bond is set at $15,000.
DTF agents discovered a substance appearing to be methamphetamine and marijuana along with paraphernalia during the third search warrant.
Linsey Gardner, 21, of Sallisaw was arrested and booked into the Sequoyah County Jail on charges of possession of CDS with intent to distribute, possession of CDS in presence of a minor, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Gardeners bond is set at $26,500. DTF agents said additional arrests were expected.
After executing the first three search warrants, officers quickly regrouped and served a fourth warrant arresting Gerald Woods, 50, of Gans and Jacqueline Sue Gaddy, 60, of Sallisaw.
Officers found a substances appearing to be methamphetamine and paraphernalia commonly used with CDS.
Gaddy and Woods were booked into the Sallisaw City Jail on charges of possession of CDS with intent to distribute, possession of CDS within 2,000 feet of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both Gaddy and Woods bond is set at $45,000. Officers reported additional arrest pending further investigation.
Sallisaw Police Officers and District 27 DTF executed a fifth search warrant on the 600 block of Byrd Avenue in Sallisaw.
Jeremy Brent Gillis, 33, was booked into the Sallisaw City Jail on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. Gillis’s bond is set at $11,000.
