A sixth suspect in connection with area vandalism cases was recently arrested and charged with third degree arson on Monday.

A felony warrant was issued on Monday in Sequoyah County for Joshua Stemmer, 19, of Sallisaw. The suspects booking photo was unavailable from the county jail. Stemmer was picked up on the warrant Wednesday and booked into the Sequoyah County Jail. Stemmer was later released on a $2,500 bond.

Sequoyah County Deputy Lance Yoakum went to the home of Stemmer and asked Stemmer to come to the sheriff’s office. Stemmer told Yoakum that he and two other friends left his home around 3 a.m. Sept. 20 and walked down the railroad tracks to Hog Creek Salvage. Stemmer claimed he did not go onto Hog Creek Salvages property but his friends did. Stemmer said he stayed on the tracks for a few minutes then walked back home. Stemmer said his friends came back to his house 45 minutes later and told him they burned about six cars and vandalized several other cars. Stemmer’s arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday.

Loyalty among friend you say?? While I can see your point, I still have to disagree with you. So you're saying lets go commit a string of murders & hide all the bodies & we can count on you to keep your mouth shut?? Ok.

Please. Everyone involved need to be brought to justice & needs to have some sort of charge brought against them for their actions during this rampage. These social deviants destroyed property that was not theirs because someone can't tell an ex-girlfriend to move on?? Because they are bored & need something to do?? Because they are spited against another human being?? Its not disloyalty that plagues this county, its the corruption that breeds disloyalty coupled with the ignorance that runs rampid here. Thats the problem.

So yeah, keep rolling over on your "friends." Don't take the fall for something that was their idea or that they were in on just because you're afraid they won't associate with you anymore. Be an adult. Take responsibility for your actions. Reassess your morals & values.

I have NEVER heard of a place where people tell on their friends as much as I have seen it going on here. EVERY arrest story that gets published in this county seems to have someone telling on someone else. What happened to loyalty among friends? Did everyone miss that lesson growing up? Seems that it would be better to become a hermit and not risk getting thrown under the bus for a reduced sentence. HEY, SALLISAW, all of you that said those vandals should be punished in all the different way you listed, guess what? The original 4 people, they will get reduced sentences, less severe charges and the more peopple they tell on, the less they will get. Sorry, but that is how the system works. "Sign that statement saying he did it too, we will drop that felony to a misdemeanor."
