Funeral services for Harold Dean Wallace, 77, of Muldrow, were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Agent Chapel in Muldrow with the Revs. Tom Barton, Raymond Chronister and Bro. Blake Rainwater officiating.

Burial was in Maple Cemetery, in Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow.

Mr. Wallace was born April 12, 1931, in Maple, to Lester Wallace and Mae (Torbett) Wallace. He died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, in Fort Smith, Ark.

Mr. Wallace retired from Farmers Co-op after 25 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, received a Korean service medal, three bronze service stars, national defense service medal, United Nations service medal and a good conduct medal. He attended Maple Freewill Baptist Church.

He married Claris Morgan, Dec. 22, 1951, in Van Buren, Ark. She preceded him in death, July 19, 2007, in Sallisaw.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Dr. Jon Remer of Fort Smith and Carol and Darrell Hill of Muldrow; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Gary and Deborah Wallace of Fairview, Tenn., Michael Wallace and Dwight and Gail Wallace all of Fort Smith and Terry and Lisa Wallace of Muldrow; eight grandchildren, Angela Tyndale and her husband, Trey, Andrew, Joshua and Haley Wallace, CarolAnn and Derek Hill, Jarrod Remer and Kayla Plank; seven great-grandchildren, Jacob, Joseph, Taylor, Austin, Meadow, Chloe and James; three sisters, Bernice Osburn of Independence, Mo., Joann Thompson of Lucust Grove and Mildred Seratt of Tahlequah; and four brothers, Herbert Wallace of Bakersfield, Calif., Junior Wallace of Wagoner, Sanford Wallace of Sebree, Ky. and Wayne Wallace of Blue Springs, Mo.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dale and Bobby Don.

Pallbearers were Tom Randolph, Darrel Woodard, Marty Green, Ed Green, Dale Ross and Arvel Ross.
