The junior led all scorers with 33 points, including 29 in the second half when he bombed in eight shots from beyond the three-point arc.
Oberste’s marksmanship allowed Sallisaw to rally from from an eight-point deficit in the third quarter and snap a two-game losing streak. The Diamonds are now 12-8 overall and 4-5 in the NOAA conference.
Oberste’s trey at the end of the third period had Sallisaw within 39-34 and he later buried four in a row to put the Diamonds up 49-41 in the fourth quarter.
He was joined in double figures by Tyler Sutherland with 15 points, while David Hadley, Sheldon Caughman and Matt Mitchell all scored four each for Sallisaw.
Sallisaw 33, Spiro 28 (G)
The Lady Diamonds rallied from five points down in the fourth quarter to fend off a Spiro upset bid on Tuesday night.
Caitie Goff drilled a three-pointer for Sallisaw and Sarah Snider had a pair of inside baskets to hand the Lady Diamonds the lead. Shelby Morgan and Goff added late free throws to clinch the win for Sallisaw, which improved to 17-3 overall and 7-2 in the NOAA.
Snider led all scorers with 16 points and Goff finished with 11. Morgan and Candace McNamee both added four for the Lady Diamonds.
Spiro, which fell to 7-13, was led by Kassie Orozco with 13 points.
Sallisaw returns to action on Friday night at Stilwell and at Monday at Stigler.
