District Attorney Jerry Moore announced Wednesday that Quincy Haymer Jr. was sentenced to 10 years in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.

Haymer, 30, was on probation for charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute when District Judge Jeff Payton revoked his probation and sentenced him to 10 years.

Payton revoked his probation based on two separate incidents. The first incident involved a Sequoyah County Sheriff deputy finding a firearm in a vehicle Haymer was driving. The second incident involved a Sallisaw police officer finding evidence of cocaine at Haymer’s home.

“The community will be a little safer as a result of the judge’s decision in the matter,” Kyle Waters, assistant district attorney said.
