The bond for Larry Eugene Walden, 57, was set at $750,000 on June 17 after his arraignment before Circuit Judge Stephen Tabor in Sebastian County Court, Fort Smith.
Walden is suspected of robbing banks in Sallisaw, Poteau, McAlester, and in Fort Smith. He was arrested by Yell County authorities at the Economy Inn in Dardanelle Monday. Walden was booked into Sebastian County Adult Detention Center later that day.
Sgt. Levi Risley of the Fort Smith Police Department said, “Walden is cooperating with the investigation. He has given us information to robberies we weren’t aware of. It was confirmed that a fifth robbery occurred in Midwest City, Okla. Walden is now a suspect in that robbery as well.”
If Walden is convicted of aggravated robbery he could receive a sentence of up to 40 years or life in prison.
