BOKOSHE - Webbers Falls took a 24-0 lead on Friday night, but Bokoshe scored four unanswered touchdowns in the second half to snatch a 30-24 win on the Tigers’ home field.

Bokoshe kept its playoff hopes alive while moving to 6-2 overall and 5-2 in District C-4. The Tigers are now tied for third with Claremore Christian entering Friday’s game at Sasakwa.

However, it was Webbers Falls that appeared to be in control of the game for the first two and half periods as the visiting Warriors went in front on a pair of Chad Dandridge touchdown passes along with a TD run and safety by A.J. McFarland.

Dandridge passed five yards to Kile Turley with 8:39 left in the third quarter to give the Warriors a 24-0 lead before Bokoshe began to fight back.

“It was pretty sad,” said Webbers Falls head coach Jeff Jones. “We had a 24-0 lead and were up 24-6 in the fourth quarter, but it was kind of like the Sasakwa game (a 62-42 loss). We played as well as we have all year in the first half, but then we started dropping like flies and that hurts when you only have 13 players.”

Steven Monroe’s one-yard touchdown run got the home team on the scoreboard with 4:31 left in the quarter and the Tigers scored three times in the fourth period to complete the comeback.

Monroe got his second TD of the night on a two-yard run and Stephen Southerland ran for the two-point conversion to pull Bokoshe within 24-14 with 10:18 left in the contest.

Southerland added a four-yard touchdown run later in the quarter and Jesse Braiser ran for two to get Bokoshe with 24-22 with 4:19 left.

The Tigers got the ball back and took the lead when Brett Abernathy broke loose for a 32-yard touchdown run with 1:11 to go. Southerland added the two-point conversion. The go-ahead touchdown was set up by a partially blocked punt.

The Warriors dropped to 3-6 overall and 3-5 in the disrtict with the loss. Allen Lea led Webbers Falls in rushing with 62 yards on 14 carries. Dandridge ran 18 times for 50 yards, Hunter Hume 11 for 44, McFarland three for 34 and Mitchell Carman seven for 31.

Dandridge completed 6-of-14 passes for 57 yards. Carman caught three passes for 31 yards, McFarland two for 21 yards and Turley had the five-yard TD reception for Webbers Falls.

The Warrior defense was paced by linebacker McFarland with 14 tackles, while Justin Lea was in on 12 stops, Carman 10, Michael Dugan 10, Cody Gaxiola nine, Allen Lea eight and Dandridge eight. Turley had seven tackles and a fumble recovery.

Webbers Falls took an 8-0 lead midway through the first quarter when Dandridge tossed a seven-yard TD pass to McFarland and Hume ran for the conversion.

McFarland got a safety for the Warriors in the second quarter and then ran 12 yards for another score with 2:47 left in the half. Dandridge passed to Jacob Glad for the conversion and Webbers Falls took an 18-0 lead to the locker room at halftime.
