MULDROW - No. 3-ranked Sallisaw stayed unbeaten on Friday night with a 33-14 win over county rival Muldrow at Aubrey J. Henshaw Bulldog Stadium.

Black Diamond quarterback Matt Oberste and wide receiver Trey Wiley connected on two first-half touchdown passes as Sallisaw took a 14-0 lead in the first half.

After the break, Dakota Petree ran 14 yards to put Sallisaw up 20-0. Moments later, Muldrow quarterback Donathan Caudill broke loose for an 85-yard TD run to pull the Bulldogs within 20-7 entering the fourth quarter.

Sallisaw pulled away on a 2-yard TD run by Petree and a 33-yarder by Oberste before Dillon Oden scored on a 1-yard run for Muldrow with less than five minutes remaining.

Sallisaw improved to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in District 4A-4 ahead of Friday’s game at Fort Gibson. Muldrow lost its second game in a row and fell to 3-2 and 0-2. The Bulldogs will visit Hilldale on Friday.

Roland 26, Hugo 7

ROLAND - The Roland Rangers celebrated homecoming on Friday night with a District 3A-4 win over Hugo.

Jeremy Morris stepped in for the injured Teven Thompson and rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns as Roland improved to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the district.

Blake Brunk scored on a 1-yard run in the first half and Morris scored on runs of 11 and 9 yards after the break. Jeff Roberts added a pair of field goals for the Rangers.

Next up for Roland is a Thursday night road game in Tulsa against Metro Christian.

Vian 24, Colcord 6

VIAN - The Wolverines got back on track Friday night, defeating Colcord in a District 2A-8 game at St. John Stadium.

Jonh Jumper tossed a 44-yard touchdown pass to Billy Monholland to get the Wolverines going and Chris Peoples kicked a 40-yard field goal for a 10-0 halftime edge. Dylan Taylor and Colby Ross scored on touchdown runs in the second half to put the game away for the Wolverines.

Vian bounced back from last week’s loss at Sequoyah to improve to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the league. Colcord slipped to 2-3 and 1-1.

Vian will travel to Adair on Friday.

Gore 30, Warner 6

WARNER - The Pirates defeated rival Warner on Friday night to move to 5-0 on the season and 4-0 in District A-6.

Logan Andrews passed to Joe Lane for touchdowns covering 26 and 6 yards in the first half.

After the break, Gore lineman Ethan James picked off a pass and rumbled 42 yards to the end zone. Colten Clay added a 40-yard TD run for the Pirates and Marcus Ivarsson kicked a 22-yard field goal to complete the scoring for Gore.

The Pirates will play at home on Friday night against Central in a key district match-up.
