OKMULGEE - Roland continued its late-season surge on Friday night as the Rangers knocked off Okmulgee 30-8.

Jeremy Morris stepped in at tailback for Teven Thompson and responded with a huge game as Roland improved to 5-4 overall and 4-2 in District 3A-4.

Morris ran the football 34 times for 287 yards and scored on runs of 3, 24, 11 and 14 yards.

Okmulgee, which had been in second place, dropped to 6-3 and 4-2.

Roland can now wrap up second place in the district on Friday night when the Rangers host Bristow.

Wagoner 35, Sallisaw 16

Prince McJunkins threw a pair of touchdown passes and ran for another score on Friday night as the Wagoner Bulldogs upset No. 3-ranked Sallisaw 35-16 at Perry F. Lattimore Stadium.

Sallisaw lost several starters to injury in the game, including standout quarterback Matt Oberste. The senior left the game in the first quarter and did not return as the Black Diamonds lost their first game of the season.

McJunkins threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Robinson and a 32-yarder to Malcolm Love as the Bulldogs grabbed a 21-3 halftime lead. He added a 48-yard TD scamper in the second half to seal the win for Wagoner (6-3, 4-1 in District 4A-4).

Sallisaw, which got touchdown runs of 6 and 3 yards by Jeromy Davenport, dropped to 8-1 overall and 5-1 in the league.

The Diamonds will try to bounce back on Friday when they host Tulsa Webster in the final regular season game.

Central 22, Keota 0

KEOTA - The Tigers went on the road Friday night and came home with a shutout as Central's defense blanked Keota.

Central improved to 8-1 overall and 7-1 in District A-6.

The Tigers will visit Warner on Friday in the regular season finale.

Vian 14, Keys 7

PARK HILL - The Vian defense made a crucial goal-line stand in the final minute as the Wolverines held on for the win on Friday night at Keys.

Keys moved the ball inside the Wolverines’ 5-yard line and had a first-and-goal, but was turned away by Vian.

As a result, the Wolverines moved to 8-1 overall and 5-1 in District 2A-8.

Dylan Taylor and Landon Decker ran for the Vian touchdowns, both in the first half. Taylor's was a 55-yarder and Decker scored from a yard out to break a 7-7 tie in the second quarter.

Gans 52, Welch 24

GANS - The Grizzlies dominated the first half on Friday night while picking up a big District B-4 win over Welch.

Weston Choate's 60-yard touchdown run on Gans' second offensive play of the night set the tone as the Grizzlies jumped out to a 36-6 lead in the first half and never looked back.

Gans strengthened its grip on second place in the district while improving to 6-3 overall and 6-1 in the league.

Gore 7, Haileyville 0

GORE - The Gore defense got the shutout on Friday night as the Pirates edged Haileyville at K.G. Horn Stadium.

Logan Andrews tossed a 23-yard touchdown pass to Wacy Connor for the game’s only touchdown as Gore improved to 7-2 overall and 6-2 in District A-6.

Next up for the Pirates is a Thursday night home game against Savanna.
