ROLAND - Alex Cole ran 65 yards for the game-winning touchdown as Roland downed Bristow 22-16 to secure second place in District 3A-4 on Friday night.

Bristow had tied the game at 16-16 on Josh Gatewood’s 2-yard run in the fourth quarter.

The ensuing kickoff went out of bounds and Roland took over at its own 35. On the first play, Cole went the distance to put Roland up with 8:51 left in the game.

The Rangers improved to 6-4 overall and 5-2 in the district while earning a first-round home playoff game on Friday.

Roland trailed 10-0 in the first half, but Jeremy Morris scored on a 3-yard run and Brooks Robertson came off the bench to toss an 8-yard TD pass to Caleb Daniel as the Rangers grabbed a 13-10 halftime lead.

Jeff Roberts booted a 32-yard field goal in the third period to put the Rangers ahead 16-10.

Sallisaw 38, Tulsa Webster 20

With a number of starters sidelined due to injury, the Black Diamonds fought off an upset scare from Webster to clinch the District 4A-4 title on Friday night at Perry F. Lattimore Stadium.

Webster was within 24-20 in the fourth quarter, but Jeromy Davenport scored on runs of 10 and 2 yards to help the Diamonds pull away in the closing minutes.

Davenport previously had a 1-yard TD run in the first quarter. Freshman quarterback Ben Oberste added a 19-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Clifton and a 5-yard TD run and Phillip Lefler kicked a 28-yard field goal for the Diamonds.

Leffler also set a new school record by intercepting four passes as Sallisaw improved to 9-1 overall and 6-1 in the district.

Sallisaw will have a home game on Friday in the first round of the playoffs.

Central 42, Warner 7

WARNER - The Tigers closed the regular season on a winning note Friday night with a blowout win at Warner.

Central improved to 9-1 overall and the Tigers finished second in District A-6 with an 8-1 league mark. They'll play at home Friday night in the first round of the playoffs.

Ryan Rogers ran for two touchdowns in the victory and the Tiger defense shut out Warner for three quarters before allowing a fourth-period kick return.

Poteau 28, Muldrow 20

MULDROW - Poteau quarterback Garrett Klutts passed for two touchdowns and ran for another on Friday night as the Pirates held off Muldrow.

The Bulldogs closed their season at 4-6 overall and 1-6 in District 4A-4, while Poteau (8-2, 5-2) clinched third place in the league.

Vian 56, Chouteau 12

CHOUTEAU - The Wolverines got 159 yards rushing and two touchdowns from Rowdy Simon while dominating Chouteau on Friday.

Colby Ross added a rushing TD and caught a touchdown pass from Landon Decker for Vian, which also got two touchdown runs from Tevin Knight, and one each by Billy Monholland and Decker.

With the win, Vian improved to 9-1 overall and 6-1 in District 2A-8. The Wolverines will get a home playoff game on Friday night.
