An auction of confiscated vehicles and other property will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at I-40 Auto Auction located on Treat Road in Muldrow.

The auction includes a 2001 Ford truck with custom rims, a 1997 Mercedes Benz and a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix. These vehicles are among the vehicles that will be sold to the highest bidder at the District 27 District Attorney’s forfeited vehicle and property auction

District Attorney Jerry Moore said the vehicles and property being auctioned off were all forfeited as a result of numerous drug-related investigations within the four-county district of Adair, Cherokee, Sequoyah and Wagoner Counties.

Proceeds from the auction are split between the District 27 Drug Task Force and the other area law enforcement agencies participating in the investigations, Moore said. Proceeds generated by the sale can be used by these agencies, many of which are smaller agencies and have limited budgets, to purchase equipment to be used to further drug investigations within their jurisdictions.

For more information concerning the auction, contact the Sequoyah County District Attorney’s Office at (918) 775-9131 or the I-40 Auto Auction at (918) 427-8200.

After an experiment that lasted several months, the editors at Your TIMES decided this week to end the practice of allowing anonymous comments on our website because most of the comments involve personal attacks and unfounded accusations. These comments do not add information to a story, or add any true insight. While we believe in the free exchange of ideas, it had become evident that was not what was happening in the comment section of our website. Readers can also become fans of Your TIMES on Facebook and may comment on our postings there. Readers are also encouraged to write letters to the editor to the newspaper about matters of public interest. The newspaper circulation is several times that of the web site, so readership is much higher. Letters must include a name and phone number so that we may contact the writer to verify authenticity of the letter. Letters are limited to 500 words and one letter per writer per month is accepted.
