Herman Ray Wheeler, 54, Billy Don Wheeler, 52, Jason Lee Sparkman, 32, Jason Edward Coppock, 34, all of Muldrow, and Brian Keith Jones, 45, of Van Buren, Ark., were booked into the Sequoyah County Jail on various drug-related charges Wednesday.
While searching the residence officers confirmed the suspects were concealing chemicals and equipment commonly associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine.
Officers at the scene also reported finding substances appearing to be methamphetamine and marijuana, and paraphernalia commonly associated with the distribution and use of controlled dangerous substances. A police radio scanner, which was scanning local law enforcement frequencies, was also found during the search.
Herman Wheeler, Coppock and Billy Don Wheeler were booked into the Sequoyah County Jail on endeavoring to manufacture a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of a police scanner in commission of a felony, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jail records indicate that all three are being held without bond and their arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday in Sequoyah County District Court, Sallisaw.
Sparkman was booked into the Sequoyah County Jail on an outstanding arrest warrant for obtaining cash or merchandise by bogus check/false pretenses. Sparkman is being held on a $5,000 bond as well as a $174 fine.
Jones was booked into the Sequoyah County Jail on endeavoring to manufacture a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of a police scanner in commission of a felony, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jail records indicate that Jones is being held without bond.
“The Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office and the District 27 Drug Task Force will continue their efforts to combat the drugs within Sequoyah County,” Sequoyah County Sheriff Ron Lockhart said. “In investigations such as this, public awareness is crucial. Anyone noticing unusual activity at a location, such as high-volume short-stay traffic, is encouraged to contact the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office. All information will be kept confidential.”
