Seniors lead Warriors in 56-0 blowout

WEBBERS FALLS - It was Senior Night at Smokey Cox Stadium and all five of Webbers Falls’ 12th graders scored touchdowns as the Warriors rolled to a 56-0 win over White Oak.

The Warriors closed their season with a record of 4-6 overall and they improved to 3-5 in District C-4 with the triumph.

It was the final high school game for seniors Allen Lea, Justin Lea, Cody Gaxiola, Kile Turley and Jacob Glad and they went out with a victory as Webbers Falls erupted for 32 points in the first quarter and 24 more in the second to win by the mercy rule at halftime.

Justin Lea got the Warriors going with a four-yard touchdown run and Chad Dandridge passed to Glad for the conversion at the 9:48 mark of the openingn period.

Tyler Stephens ran one yard for another TD and Dandridge added the two-point conversion to make it 16-0. Dandridge then connected with Glad for touchdown strikes of nine and 29 yards to close the period. Dandridge passed to Gaxiola for a two-point conversion and Allen Lea ran for another to push the lead to 32-0.

Turley got his touchdown on a five-yard pass from Dandridge early in the second quarter and Hunter Hume ran for the conversion. Gaxiola went 14 yards for his touchdown and Mitchell Carman caught a pass from Dandridge to score on the conversion.

Allen Lea got the final TD of the night with a five-yard run and Hume ran for the conversion with 4:33 left in the half.

Dandridge finished the game 7-of-12 passing for 75 yards and three TDs. Carman caught four balls for 41 yards and Glad two for 29.

Gaxiola ran for a game-high 49 yards on five carries for the Warriors, while Dandridge picked up 34 yards on four attempts.

Turley and A.J. McFarland led the Warrior defense with 13 tackles each, Gaxiola had 10 and Carman nine. Gaxiola also came up with three fumble recoveries, while Hume and Turley recovered one White Oak fumble each.

White Oak dropped to 1-8 and 1-7 with the loss.
