Two From County On Parole Docket

Two prisoners in state prisons, who were sentenced in Sequoyah County District Court, Sallisaw, will be up for parole at the next meeting of the State Pardon and Parole Board.

The cases of Richard D. Osburn and Patrick Sokolosky will be reviewed by the pardon and parole board when they meet Nov. 15 through 18 at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester.

Osburn, 25, is serving a 10-year sentence for first-degree rape. He began the sentence in state prison on April 17, 1998, and his projected release date without parole is Aug. 14, 2006. In the past Osburn has also been convicted and sentenced for possession of a stolen vehicle, theft of a motor vehicle, second-degree burglary, and grand larceny. He is serving his sentence in Joseph Harp Correctional Center in Lexington.

Sokolosky, 48, is serving a 20-year sentence for unlawful possession of a controlled drug. He began the sentence on Oct. 28, 1997, and his projected release date, without parole, is Sept. 16, 2008. Sokolosky has also been convicted of felonious possession of a firearm in Muskogee County and possession of contraband in a penal institution and unlawful possession of paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, in Sequoyah County. His convictions also include larceny of an automobile, concealing stolen property, illegal distribution of controlled substances, unlawful possession of a controlled drug, He is serving his sentence in the Howard Mcleod Correctional Center in Atoka.
