Local Students Receive CASC Scholarships

Matthew Thomason, a Central High School graduate, was recently awarded a scholarship from the Carl Albert State College (CASC) Development Foundation to attend CASC Sallisaw this fall, Bill Guffey, media coordinator, said.

The son of Terry and Patsy Thomason, he enjoys camping, fishing, and riding motorcycles. The CASC Sallisaw Committee for Excellence established the scholarships by raising the funds from local individuals and groups to benefit entering freshmen at the CASC Sallisaw campus, Guffey said.

His scholarship sponsor is Green-Mitchell Nursing Home.

Amy Turner, a Roland High School graduate, was recently awarded a scholarship from the Carl Albert State College (CASC) Development Foundation to attend CASC Sallisaw this fall, Bill Guffey, media coordinator, said.

The daughter of Cheylone Myers, she enjoys playing softball and basketball.

The CASC Sallisaw Committee for Excellence established the scholarships by raising the funds from local individuals and groups to benefit entering freshmen at the CASC Sallisaw campus, Guffey said.

Her scholarship sponsors are Green-Mitchell Nursing Homes.

She is the daughter of Renee Crone.

Kristie Watson, a Central High School graduate, was recently awarded a scholarship from the Carl Albert State College (CASC) Development Foundation to attend CASC at Sallisaw this fall, Bill Guffey, media coordinator, said.

The daughter of Mike and Glenna Allen, she enjoys fishing and collecting Elvis Presley memorabilia. She plans to become a registered dietician.

Her scholarship sponsor is Blue Ribbon Chevrolet.

John Mathis

John Mathis, a graduate of Sallisaw High School, was recently awarded a scholarship from the Carl Albert State College (CASC) Development Foundation to attend CASC Sallisaw this fall.

Mathis enjoys hunting, fishing and playing paintball. He is the son of Jerri Mathis.

His scholarship sponsor is First National Bank of Sallisaw.
