At the spring conference, 72 competitive events such as computer aided drafting, radio control transportation, aerospace technology, and structural engineering focus on the TSA goals of preparing Oklahomans to cope with technological changes, to build leadership skills, and explore career choices, Tim Dennis, TSA state advisor and program specialist, said.
The students placing in individual events were Hunter Lee and Chandler Calhoon, first in mechanical challenge; Tori Hohrman and Josh Winn, first in environmental challenge; Stephanie Rolston and Megan Harris, first in medical challenge; Josh Winn and Luke Swafford, first in system control; David McClelland, first in technical sketching; Luke Swafford and Josh Winn, second in agricultural and biotechnology; Trey Slate, second in inventions and innovations, fourth in manufacturing challenge and graphic design, fifth in computer applications, and ninth in electrical applications; and Josh Winn, second in graphic design.
Other students placing were Tancy Williams, fourth in career challenge; Luke Swafford, fifth in inventions and innovations; Megan Harris, sixth in communication challenge and ninth in TSA multimedia; Hunter Lee and Chandler Calhoon, second in agricultural and biotechnology; Alec Matthewson, seventh in technical sketching; Tori Hohrman, ninth in career challenge; and Tancy Williams and Tori Hohrman, 10th in medical challenge.
