"The purpose of BPA Day is to provide an opportunity for members of student organizations to inform legislators of the positive impact that CareerTech programs have on students of Oklahoma," Roberta Scott, ICTC public relations director, said.
Attending were students from the Information Technology and Business and Computer Technology at ICTC.
Activities included setting up a display board of the BPA chapter activities and accomplishments, meeting with Rep. Glen "Bud" Smithson (D-Sallisaw) and Sen. Kenneth Corn, tour of the capitol, and being introduced by Sen. Corn (D-Poteau) to the senate during their afternoon session, Scott said.
Honey DeShazo, BPA state membership vice president, also assisted with lunches and represented the BPA state officer team in the senate chamber.
"The tour was the highlight of the afternoon, affording the opportunity to view the architecture and artwork, including historical painting and statues," Scott said.
