Sallisaw Black Diamond Marching Band takes first place

The Sallisaw High School Black Diamond Marching Band placed first overall with a score of 87.40 at the John Parnell Marching Band Contest held at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant Sept. 27. The band also placed first in class 4A and the color guard placed first in the best large school category. Band members were also awarded a musicianship award.
