Muldrow pushed its record to 19-1 overall and 8-0 in the NOAA conference with two games left in the regular season.
The Lady Bulldogs wasted no time in grabbing control. They jumped out to an 18-3 lead in the first quarter and were in front the rest of the way. Poteau stayed within 31-16 at halftime, but a 20-7 Muldrow run in the third quarter put the Lady Pirates away.
Fontana Tate led all scorers with 17 points for the Lady Bulldogs. Taylon Fowler added 10 and Natalee Frederick dropped in seven as a dozen Muldrow players scored points in the win.
Poteau (4-16, 2-6) was paced by Courtney Allison with 15 points.
Poteau 54, Muldrow 49 (B)
MULDROW - Josh Ross scored 19 points and Derek Bond hit some late free throws to hand Poteau a road win over the Bulldogs on Tuesday night.
Bond was 5 of 6 from the charity stripe in the final minute to help the Pirates hold off Muldrow, which slipped to 9-10 with the setback.
Donathan Caudill led Muldrow with 16 points, while Jake Peterson had 11 and Tim Chandler had 1o.
Poteau improved to 14-5 overall and 5-3 in the NOAA conference with the win.
Roland 52, Stilwell 42 (G)
ROLAND - The Lady Rangers picked up a big win on Tuesday night, knocking off Stilwell for their fifth-straight victory.
Roland moved to 14-8 overall and 7-2 in the NOAA conference as Samantha Barnes and Caitlin Goode combined for 34 points. Barnes netted 18 and Goode had 16, including three baskets from 3-point range.
Roland 56, Stilwell 49 (B)
ROLAND - The Rangers avenged an earlier loss to Stilwell and put themselves in position to claim the NOAA conference championship thanks to Tuesday night’s win over Stilwell.
Roland pushed its record to 18-4 overall and 7-2 in the league and the Rangers can clinch the NOAA crown outright with a win on Friday night at Muldrow.
Dougie Webster led Roland with 18 points, including 11 in the first half. Trey Chambers finished with 14 and Caleb Daniel had 12.
The Rangers trailed by four at halftime, but used a 19-5 run in the third quarter to surge into the lead.
Stilwell dropped to 11-9 and 5-3 despite 18 points from Hunter Stevens and 14 from Chad Littlejohn.
Sallisaw 44, Spiro 33 (G)
The Lady Diamonds celebrated homecoming Tuesday night with an NOAA conference win over Spiro at Paul Post Fieldhouse.
Caitie Goff scored a game-high 21 points and Samantha Rhodes made a pair of key defensive plays in the final 90 seconds as Sallisaw improved to 8-12 overall and 2-6 in the league.
The Lady Diamonds led 24-13 at halftime and were up by 10 at the end of the third quarter thanks to a 3-point shot by Courtney Eldridge.
Spiro got as close as six midway through the fourth period, but another Eldridge trey stopped the run and Sallisaw went up 42-33 when Morgan Kostka passed to Goff for a lay-up with 1:40 left.
A Spiro basket at the other end of the floor was wiped out by an offensive foul as Rhodes took a charge in the lane. On Spiro’s next possession, Rhodes stole the ball and took it in for a lay-up to clinch the win.
Spiro 69, Sallisaw 66 2OT (B)
The visiting Bulldogs overcame a 30-point performance from Matt Oberste on Tuesday night while edging the Black Diamonds in double overtime at Sallisaw.
Elliot Hawkins led Spiro with 24 points, while Mike White and Clayton Mitchem added 13 each.
Robert Raborn joined Oberste in double figures for Sallisaw with 14 points.
Boynton 59, Gore 56 (B)
BOYNTON - Kenny Wright poured in 28 points for the Cardinals to lead them to an upset win over Class 2A 12th-ranked Gore on Tuesday night.
Logan Andrews scored a team-high 21 points for the Pirates.
Central 53, Hulbert 28 (G)
The Lady Tigers made it a season sweep of Hulbert on Tuesday night by picking up a homecourt win over the Class 2A 19th-ranked Lady Riders.
No. 17-ranked Central improved to 14-5 overall by outscoring Hulbert in every quarter on Tuesday. The Lady Tigers were up by seven at halftime and pulled away in the third period with a 15-5 surge to take a 38-21 edge into the final stanza.
Hayley Tanner fired in 21 points to pace Central and Maegan Goodwin added 13. Hulbert was led in scoring by Kassie Dirteater with nine points.
Hulbert 59, Central 48 (B)
Brett Walker scored 20 points on Tuesday night to lead the Class 2A No. 8-ranked Riders to a road win at Central.
Webbers Falls 46, Kinta 43 (B)
KINTA - The Wariors tuned up for the playoffs on Monday night with a close win at Kinta in their regular season finale.
Dakota Shipley pumped in a team-high 14 points for Webbers Falls, which built a 26-18 halftime lead and held off Kinta in the second half.
The Warriors improved to 13-8 with the non-conference win and open the Class B district playoffs at 8 p.m. Friday at home against Boynton-Moton.
Kinta 67, Webbers Falls 45 (G)
KINTA - The Lady Warriors got 15 points apiece from Katie Smith and Alisha Carter, but couldn’t get past Kinta on Monday night.
Kinta broke open a tight game in the second half, outscoring Webbers Falls by 19 in the third and fourth quarters to pull away.
Webbers Falls will host a Class B district tournament beginning Thursday night when the Lady Warriors play a first-round game against Braggs at 8 p.m.
Muldrow 72, Stilwell 68 (B)
MULDROW - Four players scored in double figures for the Bulldogs as they knocked off Stilwell on Saturday night.
Jake Peterson led the way with 19 for Muldrow, while Nate Hamilton had 15, Donathan Caudill 14 and Dillon Ross 10.
The Bulldogs trailed by seven in the fourth quarter, but outscored Stilwell 19-8 over the final eight minutes to seize the win.
Muldrow 39, Stilwell 33 (G)
MULDROW - The Lady Bulldogs held Stilwell to 10 points in the second half while rallying for the win on Saturday night.
Muldrow was down 23-15 at halftime, but cut the gap to two by the start of the fourth quarter. The Lady Bulldogs closed the game with a 14-6 run while moving to 18-1 overall and 7-0 in the NOAA.
Fontana Tate netted 14 points to pace Muldrow, while Brandie Holt and Katelyn Williams added seven each.
Roland 61, Spiro 31 (B)
ROLAND - Trey Chambers pumped in 22 points on Saturday night and the Rangers outscored Spiro in all four quarters for a dominant win at Carl Matlock Fieldhouse.
Roland took a 15-6 lead after one quarter of play and led 31-19 at halftime. A 16-5 spurt in the third period sealed the win for the Rangers, who improved to 17-4 and 6-2.
Dougie Webster added 11 points for Roland, Caleb Daniel eight and Dakota Weippert seven.
Roland 51, Spiro 40 (G)
ROLAND - Samantha Barnes fueled a third-quarter surge for Roland as the Rangers grabbed a 51-40 win over Spiro in NOAA conference play on Saturday.
Barnes netted 16 of her 28 points in the period to help Roland to turn a one-point lead into a 39-23 advantage by the start of the fourth quarter. The Lady Rangers moved to 13-8 overall and 6-2 in the league.
Vian 56, Okay 33 (G)
OKAY - The Lady Wolverines jumped out to a big lead in the first half and cruised to the Big Eight Conference triumph on Friday night.
Vian built a 37-10 lead by halftime and was led in scoring by LeiLoni Smith with 16 points. Courtney Smith pumped in nine points for Okay.
Gore 35, Central 31 (B)
GORE - The Pirates won a defensive struggle against Central on Friday night in a preview of next week’s district playoff match-up.
Gore defeated the Tigers for the second time in three meetings despite hitting just 4 of 15 free throw attempts. Devin Rineheart led the Pirates with nine points and Logan Andrews had eight as Gore improved to 15-4 overall and 9-2 in the Big Eight.
Muldrow 70, Spiro 29 (G)
SPIRO - The visiting Lady Bulldogs staggered Spiro with an early run and cruised to a blowout win on Friday night.
Muldrow moved to 6-0 in the NOAA and 17-1 overall after opening the contest with a 24-5 spurt.
Fontana Tate scored 10 points to guide Muldrow, while Katelyn Williams added eight and Shelby Howard had seven.
Spiro 57, Muldrow 48 (B)
SPIRO - Muldrow was undone by the home team’s 15-0 run in the fourth quarter on Friday night as Spiro rallied for the win.
Spiro’s late surge erased a four-point Muldrow lead as Spiro improved to 9-9 overall and 2-5 in the NOAA conference.
Muldrow (8-9, 1-5) was paced by Tim Chandler with 12 points. Dillon Ross and Jake Peterson also reached double figures with 11 and 10, respectively.
