A Sallisaw woman’s probation was revoked and she was sentenced to seven years in prison Feb. 4.

Sallisaw police officers received a tip on Jan. 19 that people were buying pseudoephedrine pills for Polly Dian Mulinax.

Officer Billy Oliver and Detectives Herb Hutchison and Sandra Girdner drove to Mulinax’s home at 503 W. Argyle St. and asked Mulinax if they could come in and speak with her about the information they received.

Mulinax, 40, told officers, “The only thing I have is a little meth in the drawer in my bedroom.”

After gaining consent to search Mulinax’s home officers discovered foil with an off yellow residue that field tested positive for meth and numerous blister packs of 120 mg of psedoephedrine.

In a press release from Jerry Moore, Sequoyah County district attorney, Moore stated Mulinax admitted that she used meth and had traded psedoephedrine pills to individuals for drugs.

Mulinax has several prior convictions. On Jan. 15 Mulinax was convicted of possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. On Oct. 27 2008 Mulinax was convicted of two counts of possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

After an experiment that lasted several months, the editors at Your TIMES decided this week to end the practice of allowing anonymous comments on our website because most of the comments involve personal attacks and unfounded accusations. These comments do not add information to a story, or add any true insight. While we believe in the free exchange of ideas, it had become evident that was not what was happening in the comment section of our website. Readers can also become fans of Your TIMES on Facebook and may comment on our postings there. Readers are also encouraged to write letters to the editor to the newspaper about matters of public interest. The newspaper circulation is several times that of the web site, so readership is much higher. Letters must include a name and phone number so that we may contact the writer to verify authenticity of the letter. Letters are limited to 500 words and one letter per writer per month is accepted.
