District 27 Drug Task Force (DTF) agents teamed up Friday morning with the Sequoyah County Sheriff's Office, the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service, and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to serve a search warrant at Jerry Gilbreath Jr.'s home located near Vian.
During the search, DTF agents reported finding substances appearing to be methamphetamine, along with items of paraphernalia commonly associated with the use and distribution of controlled dangerous substances and a firearm.
Agents also reported that, upon arrival at the residence, they observed a video-audio surveillance system in operation. DTF agents reported that this surveillance system was monitoring any approach made to the home, giving the occupant advance warning of unwanted visitors such as law enforcement officers.
When they arrived, Gibreath fled the scene into a nearby wooded area, but he was soon apprehended by officers and arrested.
Gilbreath, 28, was booked into the Sequoyah County Jail in Sallisaw on charges of trafficking in a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a firearm in commission of a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
