Officers with the Vian Police Department teamed up with Sequoyah County Sheriff's deputies and District 27 District Attorney's Drug Task Force agents to execute two search warrants in Vian.
During the search, officers at the scene reported finding substances appearing to be marijuana, along with items of paraphernalia commonly associated with the distribution and use of controlled dangerous substances. Officers at the scene also reported finding firearms and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Officers also reported that there was a toddler-age child present in the home at the time the search warrant was served. Officers also pointed out that the home is located within 1,000 feet of Vian Public Schools.
Samuel Andre English and Crystal Ranee Taylor, both of Vian, were arrested.
English, 33, was booked into the Sequoyah County Jail in Sallisaw on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor child, possession of a firearm in commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, child endangerment, and possession of drug paraphernalia. English was released on a $40,000 bond.
Taylor, 31, was booked into the county jail on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor child, possession of a firearm in commission of a felony, child endangerment, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Taylor was released on a $20,000 bond.
