The Sallisaw School Board approved at a Monday night meeting a resolution to the Sequoyah County Election Board for the annual school district election.

Office two, held by Mike Daffin, is up for election. The term is five years.

The annual school election filing period will start at 8 a.m. Dec. 4 and will end Dec. 6. The annual election will be held at the regular voting places in the school district on Feb. 13. If a second election is needed, it will be held April 3, according to a school press release.

In other business, the board voted to allow students attending the Indian Capital Technology Center to receive four credits instead of three. In the past, Superintendent Ron Wyrick said, students attending the technology center were required to take the fourth credit at the high school.

The board approved a facility use request by the Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce to use the high school campus for the chamber's Diamond Daze festival in May, and approved a $1 increase in adult admission prices for school activities.

After an executive session, Wyrick said the board employed Natasha Overstreet as a paraprofessional.
