Career fair helps students open doors to their futures

Sallisaw High School's annual Career and College Fair will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the high school.

Dana Parkerson, business and information technology teacher, said, "All parents and students of Sequoyah County high schools as well as eighth graders and their parents from Brushy, Marble City, and Tommie Spear Middle Schools are invited to the annual fair. Career and armed services representatives and college and university reps will be available to speak with all participants."

Parkerson said students will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of college, career and occupational possibilities. Business leaders in the community will be available to interact with students and answer questions regarding job skills, responsibilities, pay, and working conditions.

"They will have handouts, informative brochures, and visual aides detailing the occupation," Parkerson said.
