Diewaines Kent Holland, 50, of Vian was charged Feb. 2 in Sequoyah County District Court in Sallisaw with two felony counts of robbery by force or fear.
Rose Maire Medearis, 46, of Sallisaw was charged Feb. 2 in Sequoyah County with accessory after the fact, and two counts of knowingly concealing stolen property.
Holland is accused in the Dec. 24 robbery at Diamond Express in Sallisaw and the Dec. 26 robbery of EZMart in Sallisaw. He also matches the description of the suspect in the Dec. 29 robbery of a convenience store in Muldrow.
Holland was apprehended by Texas authorities last month at a hotel in Grand Prairie, Texas, for allegedly robbing a convenience store in Midlothian, Texas, on Jan. 6.
After the Texas robbery, the Midlothian Police Department in Texas contacted Sallisaw Police Detective Sandra Girdner. The clerk in the Texas robbery identified the suspect. Holland was arrested in a hotel in nearby Grand Prairie.
Holland was transported to Ellis County Jail in Waxahachie, Texas, where he admitted to the Midlothian robbery. Holland went to prison in Texas in 1993 for robbing the same store in the same way, Texas authorities said.
In an interview with Sallisaw detectives, Holland allegedly admitted robbing the two Sallisaw stores and the store in Muldrow. He allegedly admitted that he never had a gun, but gave the impression that he did.
Holland claimed that Medearis was the driver of the get-away vehicle after the robberies.
Holland said Medearis knew about the robberies, that she took part in spending the money from the robberies, and that she did not turn him in or alert the police of the robberies.
