Jailed immediately was Tracy Cardwell who owes $7,370.56.
The Sequoyah County Court in Sallisaw also issued bench warrants for four parents who failed to appear in court. The four parents for whom bench warrants were issued are:
•Michael Fletcher who owes $17,300
•Dustin Tatum who owes $6,552.94
•Shawn Hope who owes $3,456.30
•William Reese who owes $400
Moore asks that anyone with information about where these or other wanted persons can be located to call any local law enforcement officer for immediate arrest.
He said the Sallisaw child support office has collected a total of $206,748.90 from other parents, so far, for the month of February 2010.
Moore said, “The mission of the Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) is to enhance the well being of children by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing reliable sources of support for families entitled to child support.”
The Oklahoma legislature and the U.S. Congress has enacted law to allow Child Support Services to collect child support owed from non-custodial parents who receive payments from Social Security, worker’s compensation, and personal injury settlements as well as regular employment paychecks.
Moore said the district attorney provides face-to-face visits with child support workers in the Sallisaw child support office, which is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and is located at 1611 S. Kerr Blvd., next door to the Sequoyah County Department of Human Services offices. In Stilwell, a parent may visit caseworkers between 1 and 3 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every month at the Department of Human Services.
