Sallisaw’s Spring Sweep ’10, the semi-annual city cleanup, will begin March 29, and is for residential customers only.

City officials ask that all items be separated into groups — brush, junk and metal — and at the curbside no later than 7 a.m. The piled groups must not be stacked near water meters, gas meters or fire hydrants.

Officials said the Environmental Protection Agency prohibits the city from picking up tires, batteries, oil, paint or hazardous materials.

Also, any debris left from construction or by contractors must be disposed of by the contractor. The city will not pick up debris left from land clearing of any type.

City crews will go through each neighborhood only one time.

For more information contact city hall at 775-6241.
