County players make NOAA all-conference team

Six girls and five boys from Sequoyah County have been named to the NOAA All-Conference Basketball Teams

Conference champion Sallisaw had three seniors make the girls' first team: Ashley Covington, Lyndsey Daggs and Meghan Smith. Roland's Jamie Morgan and Chelsey Roberts also made the team along with Muldrow's Amber Roberts.

Sallisaw's Casey Eubanks was named Girls' Coach of the Year and Most Valuable Player honors went to Kim Doyle of Stilwell.

The Lady Diamonds won the conference championship with a 10-0 record. Honorable Mention selections for the girls included Sallisaw's Shelby Stavely and Sasha Risenhoover.

Muldrow's Jena Goodson and Raegan Sparkman also received Honorable Mention.

The conference champion Roland Rangers had three players make All-Conference: Zach Roberts, Karl Dixon and Cory Silva. Sallisaw's James Hoover also made the team along with Alex Marshall of Muldrow.

Eddie Lewis was named Coach of the Year after the Roland boys defended their 2007 NOAA championship by going 9-1 this season. Most Valuable Players for the boys were Pacer Eubanks of Stilwell and William Whitfield of Spiro.

Boys' Honorable Mention picks from the county were Jacob Bartel of Sallisaw and Beau Brannon of Muldrow.
