Dear Editor:

The Maple Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary would like to thank everyone who helped out during the holiday season. We were very touched by all of the people assisting one of our firefighters and his family during Christmas. We received so many donations to help them with groceries, rent, utility bills, and, of course, presents for their three children. It was a very happy holiday for this family.

Those donating items, money, and lots of time are as follows:

Rusty and Deana Amon, Carl and Sue Werschky, Larry and Debbie Click, Crystal Emberton, Stephen and JoAnna Click, Employees of Krayola Korner, the Administrative, Planning, and Building Departments of the City of Ft. Smith, Chris and Tabby Willet, Members of the First Baptist Church of Muldrow, Members of the Mineral Springs Church, Dianne Riggs, Members of the Long Community Church, Mrs. Gwinn, Stephanie Click, Cody Click, Roland Pharmacy, Mona Cherry, All the Members of the Maple Fire Department, and Bucky (Santa) from the Eagles Club. We appreciate all of the effort from everyone in making it possible for him and his family have a very Merry Christmas.

The Ladies Auxiliary held a fundraiser in December. We would also like to thank these individuals and businesses for donated items in making this event so successful:

Rocky's Pawn Shop, Cuts and Comforts, Muldrow Pharmacy, Melissa's Wireless Connection, Southern Comfort, Mimi's This and That, and all of the Members of the Ladies Auxiliary for their time and effort.

Thank you.

Johnna Riggs and Misty Riggs

After an experiment that lasted several months, the editors at Your TIMES decided this week to end the practice of allowing anonymous comments on our website because most of the comments involve personal attacks and unfounded accusations. These comments do not add information to a story, or add any true insight. While we believe in the free exchange of ideas, it had become evident that was not what was happening in the comment section of our website. Readers can also become fans of Your TIMES on Facebook and may comment on our postings there. Readers are also encouraged to write letters to the editor to the newspaper about matters of public interest. The newspaper circulation is several times that of the web site, so readership is much higher. Letters must include a name and phone number so that we may contact the writer to verify authenticity of the letter. Letters are limited to 500 words and one letter per writer per month is accepted.
