PININFARINAS DOCTOR, on the inside, owned and trained by Rex Brooks of Sallisaw, qualifies for the Black Gold Derby in trials held Saturday at Blue Ribbon Downs. The trials for the Black Gold Futurity and Derby and the Mistletoe Allowance were held at Blue Ribbon Downs but since the new owners, the Choctaw Nation, do not have a racing license, the finals will be held Nov. 22 and 23 respectively at Remington Park in Oklahoma City. The tribe is seeking a 2004 license for a race meet next year, and plans many improvements to the facility, General Manger Frank Deal said last week. The Choctaw Nation purchased the track for a reported $4.25 million Oct. 31.
