Linda Carol Michalek, 32, was charged Tuesday with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, according to court records filed in Sequoyah County District Court in Sallisaw.
On Jan. 5, Sallisaw Police were sent to Don's Mobile Home Park in Sallisaw in reference to a fight in progress, according to court records. Once there, officers observed several young people standing in the street and yard. Police made contact with a girl, who said that she and another girl were walking down the street, and as they got in front of a trailer, a woman, identified as Michalek, came out and attacked her.
The victim said that Michalak shouted for someone to give her a knife, but the victim never saw a knife. Michalak allegedly threw the victim to the ground and slammed her head on pavement and ripped off the victim's necklace, cutting her neck with a fingernail, the victim told police.
The victim had small scratches on her upper neck, and several large knots on the back of her head, police reported.
Several witnesses told police the same story. Police spoke to Michalek, who said that she never left the house, never hit the girl, and did not even own a knife.
Based on the injuries to the victim, Michalak was arrested. Police talked to one of Michalak's daughters, who said that the girls had been harassing her and her sister through an open window and her mom got tired of telling the girls to leave. She said that her mother ran outside and made the girls leave, but she did not see what happened outside.
Michalak denied hitting the girl or going outside.
