Muldrow Man Dies After Wreck

A Muldrow man died in a one-vehicle accident Sunday near Sallisaw due to a heart attack, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP).

Billy John McGehee, 71, of Muldrow was driving his 1994 Mercury Sable at 4:10 p.m. east on Interstate 40 when, at the Sallisaw exit ramp, he ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

McGehee, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported by LifeStar Emergency Medical Service to Sequoyah Memorial Hospital in Sallisaw where he died from an apparent heart attack, the OHP reported

There were no passengers with McGehee at the time of the accident, the OHP reported.
