William Edward Dority, 33, of Muldrow pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine and was sentenced to five years in the custody of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections (DOC), Sequoyah County District Attorney Jerry S. Moore announced Friday.
Dority had been on probation for previous drug charges when he was arrested in December when a room he had rented at the Golden Spur Motel in Sallisaw was raided by members of the Sallisaw Police Department. Officers found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during the search.
"Repeat drug offenders must be held accountable for their actions," Kyle Waters, assistant district attorney handling the case, said.
Dana Renee Murray, 29, of Stigler also pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine and was sentenced to five years in the custody of DOC, Moore announced Friday. Murray had been on probation for previous drug charges. She will be allowed to participate in the Thinking for a Change program while in DOC.
Murray was arrested, along with Jeremy Clark, on Dec. 17 when a room Clark had rented at the Golden Spur Motel in Sallisaw was raided by members of the District 27 Drug Task Force and the Sequoyah County Sheriff's Office. Officers found a large amount of marijuana, as well as methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, during the raid.
"This county is blessed with very diligent officers who work well together and in turn produce strong cases," Waters said.
