After going undefeated in the league, 17 senior players from Sallisaw have been honored with spots on the 4A-4 All-District Football Team.

Six of those players received Player of the Year accolades with 11 more getting all-district status.

In addition, Virgil Terry was named 4A-4 Coach of the Year for guiding the Black Diamonds to a district title in his first season in charge. The long-time assistant has led Sallisaw into the Class 4A semifinals and to an 11-1 record so far after being promoted during the offseason.

Free safety/Z-back John Petree was selected district MVP for his all-around performance on offense, defense and special teams.

The Offensive Player of the Year is quarterback Ryan Clubb, who has thrown for 1,504 yards and 20 touchdowns this season.

Tackle James Bell has been a key factor in Sallisaw's offensive success and was rewarded as the 4A-4 Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Sallisaw allowed the fewest points among Class 4A teams and tackle Max Smith and end Nathan Chadwell were among the district's top defensive honorees. Smith is the Defensive Lineman of the Year and Chadwell was named Defensive End/Linebacker of the Year.

The Diamonds have also had an excellent kicking game this season and the league coaches selected Benson Cheek as 4A-4 Kicker/Punter of the Year.
