District 27 Drug Task Force (DTF) agents teamed up with Cherokee Nation Marshal Service investigators and Adair County Sheriff's deputies to serve a search warrant a home near Stilwell Tuesday morning.
During the search, agents at the scene reported finding substances appearing to be methamphetamine and substances appearing to be marijuana, along with items of paraphernalia commonly associated with the distribution and use of controlled dangerous substances. Agents also reported finding a firearm and an undisclosed amount of cash during the search. Investigators also found a scanner monitoring the frequencies of local law enforcement agencies during the search of the home.
Russell Hart and Timothy Phillips, both of Stilwell, were arrested.
Phillips, 43, and Hart, 55, were booked into the Adair County Jail on charges of trafficking in a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a firearm in commission of a felony, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a police radio in commission of a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hart was released on a $49,000 bond. As of Wednesday, Phillips remained in custody in lieu of a $49,000 bond.
