Stilwell's Cody Kirk and Spiro's Courtney Clayborne have been named NOAA Players of the Year by the league's basketball coaches.

Kirk, a senior guard, helped the Indians to a first-place tie with the Roland boys for the conference championship.

Senior post Clayborne led the Lady Bulldogs to the girls championship in the NOAA and also to the Class 3A state tournament.

Roland's Eddie Lewis shared the boys' NOAA Coach of the Year honors with Stilwell's Tim Stewart. Terry Sweeney of Spiro was the girls' Coach of the Year.

A number of Sequoyah County players were included on the all-conference teams.

Sallisaw's Michael Anderson and Donald Sanders made the boys' first team and were joined by Muldrow's Austin Day and Spencer Tally and Roland's Casey Biles, Scooby Copeland and Jerrell Taylor.

Honorable mention selections for the boys include Matt Lucas and Tyrone Taylor of Muldrow, Jay Nichols of Roland and Sallisaw's Ryan Clubb and Derek Tillis.

The Sallisaw Lady Diamond starting five of Anna Herndon, Renae Means, Kay Smith, Lana Reed and Mandi Pearson each made the All-NOAA first team. Muldrow's Megan Matlock, Gena Sanders and Jordan Southerland were also named to the first-team along with Roland's Toni Keen and Jordan Cosner.

Cassie Daniel of Muldrow earned honorable mention recognition.
