Alan "Skipper" Wayne Laman, 32, is charged with first degree rape, indecent exposure, lewd molestation, possession of child pornography, and making lewd proposals to a minor child.
According to court records, Laman was formerly convicted in Texas in May 1992 of felony credit card abuse, and again in April 1993 of burglary of a building. Laman is being held on a $1 million bond, according to court records.
Jeff Sheridan, Sequoyah County assistant district attorney, said Wednesday morning that the case is an ongoing investigation, and there may be more than one victim.
Sheridan said Laman's wife, Dede Laman, 24, was charged with failure to report the incidents, and believes she was released from the Muldrow City Jail on a $50,000 bond. As of Friday morning, no district court charges had been filed against Dede Laman.
According to the affidavit, Muldrow Police Officer Bob Vessell took a report from a female juvenile on March 23 at Redbird Smith Health Center in Sallisaw. During the statement to police, the 11-year-old girl said that Skipper Laman had allegedly taken pictures of her naked in late December or January. The girl told police that another occasion when she was at Laman's home, he allegedly had sex with her while his wife watched. She told police that when Laman had sex with her, he stopped and had sex with his wife while in the same room. Vessell received a search warrant for the Laman residence at 604 N. Pecan Street in Muldrow and seized several items including a computer, video tapes, DVDs, a handgun, and a Santa Claus costume that the victim said she was wearing the day Laman took pictures of her in the nude.
