In the past week, the Sequoyah County Sheriff's department has arrested eight people on various drug-related charges.

In the most recent drug investigation into the illegal manufacture of methamphetamine Thursday afternoon, a Sallisaw man was arrested.

Sequoyah County Sheriff's investigators and deputies served a search warrant on the home of Bobby William Morgan Jr. north of Sallisaw, Sheriff Johnny Philpot said.

Investigators reported that when they arrived at Morgan's home, no one was there. While investigators served the search warrant on Morgan's property, officers located Morgan at a business near his home.

Philpot said during the search, officers found chemicals and equipment commonly associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine, substances appearing to be methamphetamine, and items of paraphernalia commonly associated with the use of controlled dangerous substances.

Morgan, 44, was arrested and transported to the Sequoyah County Jail in Sallisaw where he was booked on charges of endeavoring to manufacture a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Philpot said jail records indicated that Morgan has previously been convicted on felony charges. He is currently being held without bond.

Wednesday Investigation

Philpot reported that four arrests were made Wednesday afternoon following the serving of search warrants at two apartments in Roland.

Sheriff's investigators reported that the search warrants were served as a result of information investigators had obtained concerning the illegal distribution of controlled dangerous substances to juveniles.

During a search of the two apartments, investigators found substances appearing to be methamphetamine and items of paraphernalia commonly associated with the use of controlled dangerous substances. Philpot said investigators reported the two apartments are located within a public housing area.

Angela Marie Harris, Misty Dawn Etter, and Charles Kraft, all of Roland, and Dustin Cody of Muldrow, were arrested.

Harris, 19, was booked into the county jail on charges of causing, aiding, or encouraging a minor to commit drug-related crimes, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession of CDS within 1,000 feet of public housing, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jail records indicate that Harris is currently being held without bond.

Kraft, 50, Etter, 28, and Cody, 18, were booked into the county jail on charges of possession of CDS, possession of CDS within 1,000 feet of public housing, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Their bonds were each set at $25,500.

March 4 Arrests

Sheriff's deputies arrested three California residents on drug-related charges following a traffic stop on Interstate 40 March 4.

Sheriff's Deputy Larry Lane Jr. reported that after making a traffic stop, he noticed the driver and two passengers seemed nervous. Lane reported that he obtained consent to search the vehicle. During the search, Lane found a pouch with plastic bags that contained substances appearing to be marijuana and substances appearing to be crystal methamphetamine.

Susan Angulo and Kerlinda Ramirez, both of Lemon Grove, Calif., and Aaron James Fraser of San Diego, Calif., were arrested.

Angulo, Fraser, and Ramirez were booked into the county jail on charges of trafficking CDS, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Angulo, 35, is currently being held on a $60,000 bond. Jail records indicate Fraser, 32, and Ramirez, 22, both have two previous felony convictions, and are each being held on $100,000 bonds.
