Butcher told the commissioners at their Monday meeting that auditors found "nothing in the financial reporting was found to be weak."
He said auditors found the program complies with all aspects of the federal program guidelines, and no problems were found by the audit.
"We're proud of it. It was a clean audit," Butcher said.
The audit was conducted by Clothier and Co. of Muskogee.
In other business the commissioners approved an agreement to accept a $5,000 emergency management preparedness grant.
They also approved SBC Global for long-distance telephone service for the Sequoyah County Health Department, and the purchase and installation of a new air conditioner for the health department building in Sallisaw from Jones Heating and Air Conditioning of Sallisaw. The cost of the air conditioner and installation is $9,950, and the unit has a one-year guarantee on labor and a five-year guarantee on the equipment.
District 2 Commissioner Steve Carter said he met with Bill Taylor, who lives north of Sallisaw just off Highway 17 about a drainage problem. Taylor told the commissioners last week that water ran down the road from a nearby Cherokee subdivision during heavy rainstorms and flooded his yard.
Carter said, "We looked at the drainage problem and got it fixed."
After the regular meeting the commissioners met in executive session to review applications for a new county emergency management director. Marion Fair, the previous director, resigned last month.
The commissioners did not hire a replacement after the meeting, and the employment of an emergency management director is expected to be on next week's agenda.
