Donald Sevenstar, 38, was charged in January in a three-count indictment, including two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon in Indian Country and one count of burglary in Indian Country.
The charges stemmed from a Jan. 13 incident at his home and at the home of a family member. Both houses are located on a restricted Indian allotment in the Nicut community north of Muldrow.
After consuming a large quantity of alcohol, Sevenstar stabbed his brother in the arm with a knife, and his brother ran from the home. Sevenstar then went to the nearby home of another relative where he broke down the door, threatened the occupant with a knife, and demanded to know where his brother was hiding. His brother escaped additional injury by seeking refuge at another neighbor's house.
As part of a plea agreement with the United States, Sevenstar agreed to plead guilty to stabbing his brother, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma in Muskogee.
Sentencing will be scheduled after the completion of a pre-sentencing investigation. Sevenstar faces up to 10 years in prison, a three-year term of supervised release, and up to a $250,000 fine.
