A Bartlesville man was injured Wednesday evening when a truck, driven by Randy Parks of Webbers Falls, he was a passenger in struck a tree.

Parks, 47, of Webbers Falls was driving a 1994 Dodge truck at about 7:39 p.m. four miles east and two miles south of Keefeton on a county road in Muskogee County when Parks swerved to avoid a deer and hit the tree, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP).

Parks was traveling east when he swerved to the right, ran off the road, and struck an embankment and a tree.

The OHP reported that Parks was not injured in the accident. Two passengers were traveling with Parks. Janet Frazier, 40, of Big Cabin was not injured, while Brian Barham, 36, of Bartlesville, was transported by lifeflight to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Barham was admitted in stable condition with head, trunk, arm, and leg injuries.

After an experiment that lasted several months, the editors at Your TIMES decided this week to end the practice of allowing anonymous comments on our website because most of the comments involve personal attacks and unfounded accusations. These comments do not add information to a story, or add any true insight. While we believe in the free exchange of ideas, it had become evident that was not what was happening in the comment section of our website. Readers can also become fans of Your TIMES on Facebook and may comment on our postings there. Readers are also encouraged to write letters to the editor to the newspaper about matters of public interest. The newspaper circulation is several times that of the web site, so readership is much higher. Letters must include a name and phone number so that we may contact the writer to verify authenticity of the letter. Letters are limited to 500 words and one letter per writer per month is accepted.
