Dear Editor:

In August 2003 a gentleman went to court in Sequoyah County for custody of his two girls.

He was granted this on basis of mental and moral basis. They found his ex-wife lied on the witness stand also found she left her children home alone for hours while she was in jail. The father was taken back to court in October of 2003 by his ex-wife to appeal the judge's decision. After testimony the children would remain with their father. And the mother was ordered to pay child support. After seven months the ex-wife was taken back to court by the child support division and ordered again to pay child support in the amount of $2,000 back pay. There was still no payment made now in May. There is another court hearing on child support payment, but guess what, if this was a man he would be sitting in jail. Only in Sequoyah County.

After an experiment that lasted several months, the editors at Your TIMES decided this week to end the practice of allowing anonymous comments on our website because most of the comments involve personal attacks and unfounded accusations. These comments do not add information to a story, or add any true insight. While we believe in the free exchange of ideas, it had become evident that was not what was happening in the comment section of our website. Readers can also become fans of Your TIMES on Facebook and may comment on our postings there. Readers are also encouraged to write letters to the editor to the newspaper about matters of public interest. The newspaper circulation is several times that of the web site, so readership is much higher. Letters must include a name and phone number so that we may contact the writer to verify authenticity of the letter. Letters are limited to 500 words and one letter per writer per month is accepted.
