A Sequoyah County man was recently sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to a charge of grand larceny, Sequoyah County District Attorney Richard L. Gray announced.

Timothy Andrew Ralph, 28, will be held in the Sequoyah County Jail in Sallisaw pending transportation to Lexington Reception and Assessment Center, Gray said.

The prison term stems from an incident in late October when Ralph was allegedly caught stealing tools in excess of $500 from a vehicle north of Roland.

According to court records, Ralph was caught carrying power tools in his arms. The owner of the property, Shawn Giles, chased down Ralph and apprehended him.
