A meeting to plan the Sallisaw High School Class of 1957 reunion will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Western Sizzlin restaurant in Sallisaw.
A benefit turkey shoot will be held Saturday in the field behind Evening Shade Baptist Church. Proceeds will go to the Jay Thompson Memorial Fund. The shoot is for .22-caliber rifles and shotguns with open sight scopes.

A revival will be held at Blunt Baptist Church, five miles north of Sallisaw on Highway 17, at 7 p.m. each day, Sunday through Friday. The Rev. Kim Schmidt will be the evangelist and the Rev. Leroy Reid is the church minister. A pot-luck lunch will be held after the morning service Sunday.

Sallisaw's spring clean up begins at 8 a.m. Monday. All refuse must be at the curb by 8 a.m., and materials should be separated into brush, junk and metals. A cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) class will be conducted by Shawn Fuller from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Tuesday. The class is hosted by the Children First program at the Sequoyah County Health Department in Sallisaw, where the class will be held. Cost of the class is $25 per person or $10 per person if a participant in the Children First program. Fuller will teach infant, child and adult CPR and other life-saving methods. The Blunt Baptist Church Clothes Closet will be open from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, March 31. After that date the clothes closet will close permanently. Church members thanked everyone for their donations. The church is about five miles north of Sallisaw on Highway 17.
The Sequoyah County Democratic Party will hold its county convention at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 31, in the big courtroom at the Sequoyah County Courthouse in Sallisaw. County Democrats will elect new county leadership and select delegates for the 2007 congressional and state conventions.
The first shodeo of the Sallisaw Shodeo 2007 Buckle Series will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 31, at the Sallisaw Rodeo Arena. Admission is $1 per person and a concession stand will be open. Age groups are 5 and under leadline; five and under riders; 6 through 8; 9 through 12; and 13 through 18. All those entering classes must have proof of age as of March 1, and all horses must have a negative Coggins test. The entry free will be $12 per child, which includes entry in barrels, the flag race, pole bending and the stake race.
