REQUEST FOR BIDS
The Area 3 Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation will be accepting sealed bids for the new construction of seven (7) homes. Homes shall be completely finished inside and out. These will be turnkey jobs located in Sequoyah and Muskogee County and must be completed within 120 days. Work must begin within seven days after execution of the contract(s).
Bids will be awarded on a per unit basis and will be according to the lowest most responsive bid for the individual units. The amount of units to be awarded to the contractor(s) may vary according to lowest most responsive bid.
Contract(s) must be executed within seven days of award or the bid will become null and void and the next lowest most responsive bid will be considered
Specifications together with all necessary form documents are available to all qualified contractors, may be picked up at the office of Patricia Bark, Contract Administrator, Area 3 Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation, 3807 West Cherokee. Sallisaw, Oklahoma.
There is a non-refundable charge of $25.00 per bid packet. A bid packet must be purchased to eligible to bid. A money order or a check made payable to the Area 3 Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation must be received, (no cash will be accepted).
There shall a mandatory pre-bid conference scheduled for WEDNESDAY, JUNE 2, 2004 at 2:00 PM at the Housing Authority Area 3 Office, located at 3807 W. Cherokee, Sallisaw, Oklahoma.
Sealed bids may be mailed to Area 3 Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation, P.O. Box 469, Sallisaw, Oklahoma, 74955 or hand delivered to 3807 West Cherokee, Sallisaw, Oklahoma. ALL BIDS MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN TUESDAY JUNE 15 2004 at 10:00 AM Bids must be sealed and labeled "SEALED BID". Late bids will not be accepted or considered.
A public bid opening will be held at TUESDAY, JUNE 15, 2004 at 10:15 AM, at the Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation, Area 3 Office located at 3807 West Cherokee, Sallisaw, Oklahoma -

Bids will be accepted from Indian and Non-Indian contractors. Indian preference will be given only to the contractors who are currently certified through the Tribal Employment Rights Office (TERO) at Cherokee Nation, P.O. Box 948, Tahlequah, Oklahoma 74465 (918)456-0671. HUD has determined this contract is on a project subject to Section 7 (b) of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act, which require in part that to the greatest extent feasible; preference in the award of contracts and subcontracts shall be given to Indian organizations and Indian Owned Economic Enterprises.
The Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
Any state or Tribal law that requires the payment of wage rates that exceed the corresponding Federal rate is inapplicable and shall not be enforced.
