Frank Deal, the racetrack's general manager, said no people or horses were injured.
Simulcast racing was cancelled through Friday, and will resume on Saturday in the clubhouse. Friday's schooling races were cancelled along with live racing on Saturday and Sunday.
"The damage to the barns resulted in horses being moved to undamaged structures, but no horses were injured in the storm," Deal said. "We feel lucky and blessed that no one was hurt in the main building. The lower clubhouse was open for simulcasting at the time."
Deal said the storm hit at about 7 p.m.
The clean-up process began at daylight, while insurance adjusters and management started assessing the damage, Deal said.
The track's managers also met with representatives from the horsemen's association and horseracing commission, and the stewards about live racing over the weekend.
Live racing will resume on April 16 and 17.
Deal said it is not known whether the storm spawned a tornado that caused the damage or if straight-line winds did the damage. Sallisaw officials sounded the city's tornado warning sirens when a rotating cloud was detected near McKey, just west of Blue Ribbon Downs.
Robin Akers, the track's marketing director, said Saturday trials for the first leg of the Black Gold Futurity has been rescheduled for April 16, and the futurity finals will be held April 30.
